Just got the iphone set up, however it isnt picking up any wifi signal.

If i go into "other" under choose a network i get the message

    "cant scan for wifi signal"

there is no problem with the signal in the house as i have my own phone as well as 2 laptops connected atm.

bought the iphone 2nd hand so its not under warranty, any suggestions?

    go into
    settings,
    general,
    reset (down the bottom),
    reset network settings,

    should work

if not plug into itunes and restore,

sync first to save any data before restore.

it worked untill i put the phone on standby and now the same thing is happening.

will i have to restore the phone completely?

there is no SIM installed in the phone just yet, i had one in when i first reset the network settings and it worked but when i took it out it didnt work anymore, even after i reset them again.

I dont think the iphone works at all without a sim. Mine does not anyway.

put a sim back in, still not working properly??

by not working properly i mean it still either cant pick up wifi signal or else wont connect to it.

Create a new user account on your computer, and restore the phone as a new phone in that. If it is still not working, it may be a hardware fault.

You can put it in a zip lock bag and then into the freezer for an hour to cool the wifi chip.

    Can work but only temporary.

    Sell it on
