    Hi Folks

Just interested in peoples opinions as to where best to start looking when searching for a job in London. I've just completed a M.Sc. in Finance and am interested in moving to London.
I'm sure alot of posters on here also made this transition to London after their studies so would like to hear some opinions on the best way find a job.

As a Graduate I'd like to work in Risk MGMT. etc but wouldn't close any doors on opportunities such as Trading/Asset Management etc..

Specifically I'd like to hear about recruiters/recruitment agencies/websites etc etc that helped people find jobs....
Your thoughts and opinions will be appreciated.
    TG

Banks have opened applications for Grad Programs with closing dates being around end of October. However unless you have had an internship in a bank previously it would be hard to land a front office role straight off the bat.

Nonetheless, if you are interested in doing Risk Management then this is Middle Office and you would stand a good chance of getting that. As long as your grades are good and you demonstrate competency it is definitely a good shot. Another Middle Office position to look at if you want to go Front Office is Trade Support which gives you good exposure to front office. With those positions you stand a chance of getting in to a junior front office position after a year or two or an even higher chance of getting in to front office position in a brokerage or boutique IB.

So begin your search by looking at banks websites, JP Morgan, BarCap, Citigroup etc.
After you have exhausted all those upload your CV to www.efinancialcareers.com with a title such as "First in XXXX + MSc in XXXX at XXX". Recruiters will contact you if you have decent credentials and also look around the site for jobs too.

If you know anyone in London that you are on close terms with ask them can you use their address on your CV if you are going down the recruiter route. Also consider getting a UK phone number so recruiters can get in contact with you easily. The address thing is just because they are more likely to get in contact with someone who might have difficulty making the travel over.
Only recruiter I had contact with was http://www.goodmanmasson.com/ . They were excellent and less than a week after phoning me I had 2 job offers on the table. There are definitely jobs going in London so get searching and you will get something.
