    All

I am having terrible trouble with my 2004 Bors (1.4 Petrol), up to 60k it was fine, however since then it has gone down hill

I have had to replace the starter motor, brake light clip, reconditioned alternator.

recently it started to have trouble idling, car would rev itself and the batterly light would come on intermittnet. I had the AA out and they ran diags and it ended up being the Ignition coil in cylinder 2, replaced this and then this week replaced the other 3, just today the car started agin to have trouble idling and the battery light has come back on.

Any ideas? Head is now officialy wrecked with this car, no confidene in it what so ever, wil not be going the VW route anymore.

They're not good cars and it gets worse as they get older. Gearbox goes, engine uses oil etc etc. VW has a very undeserved reputation for reliability.

Sell it now and get something reliable.

That 1.4 Engine is an oil burning piece of junk.

Would that not suggest there is still an issue with the alternator ?
I agree, its not the best engine VAG have put together.

How can I test out if it is the alternator again?

How much would a new one set me back?
