Silly Question

    Hi people. Quick silly question.

I'm job hunting, and looking at everything, but there's a few roles I'm thinking of applying for that are only year long/2 year contracts.

If a miracle happened and I managed to get one of them, would there be anything stopping me from leaving in 6 months time if something permanent/better/in my field came along?

How does this normally work for companies- I've no experience of this kind of thing? I can't imagine that you get a year long job, and then half way in you leave, without annoying the company a lot. Btw, they're across a broad range - engineering, admin etc, so no one particular industry, if that helps.

As long as you give them whatever notice they stipulate in your contract you can leave when you like. The norm is a months notice, sometimes it is only 2 weeks.
