    & SUPPORT
    Friday October 22nd
    Upstairs in Kelly's, Galway
    Doors 10pm
    Admission €5

They've rocked clubs and festivals countrywide for the last 10 years or more and they're back on the road again for the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend when Galway/London house collective Disconauts play three live dates including Galway on Friday 22nd of October

The Disconauts live show has graced Ireland's biggest clubs and festivals down the years and storming sets in all of Irelands major club nights and at festivals like Oxegen and Electric Picnic have made them firm favourites all over the country. The cheeky disco deviants legendary live shows feature deckmonkeys Padraic and Keith on the ones and twos, live Latin percussion from Mark Logan, the sublime trumpet of Ben Edwards, soaring sax of Steve Hamilton and the deep bass trombone of Mike Kearsey.

Their upcoming triple bill sees all members of the soulful sextet present and correct for their mini Irish tour and percussionist Mark Logan says the group are excited to finally be playing together as a 6 piece again. Its really difficult for us all to be free at the same time for gigs, says Mark, especially with Mike, Steve and Ben based in the UK and all so busy with their different projects with the likes of Paolo Nutini, Madness and others. Its been 2 years since we last played together as a 6-piece and that was at a gig in London; our last Irish shows as a full 6-piece were over 3 years ago.
These live shows are an enjoyable change for the collectives djs Padraic and Keith, and Padraic is quick to point out that theres a wonderful raw energy that comes from these live shows thats different to our regular club residencies. In our humble opinion theres no finer percussionist in the land than Mark and the three guys on horns are quite simply world class. Its a different beast that we all enjoy!

Disconauts live shows are a rarity these days as the Disconaut horn players are busy recording and touring with the worlds biggest names in pop and rock. Trumpet player Ben Edwards has had a star-studded 2010 where hes been on a non-stop European tour with chart-topping Paolo Nutini as well as touring with with Basement Jaxx, Mumford & Sons and up and coming soul sensation and MOBO Awards nominee Natalie Williams.
As well as a busy schedule working on scores for TV and film sax player Steve Hamilton has spent a lot of time this year touring with Latin jazz maestro Snowboy while trombone player Mike Kearsey divides his time between touring with perennial festival faves Madness and Tom Jones among other projects.

The brassy threesome have travelled all over the world in recent years where as well as playing with the aforementioned artists theyve also performed live or recorded with a veritable whos who of the music business including Radiohead, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Dizzee Rascal, Beyonce, Kasabian, Jools Holland, Jack Penate, Mark Ronson, Paul McCartney, Spiritualized, Ray Lamontagne, the James Taylor Quartet, Quantic Soul Orchestra, David Gray, Groove Armada and Jimi Tenor.

For the Disconaut brethren its definitely a labour of love. Its not like work really, says Padraic, Were all good mates so we love these rare chances to play together and I think it shows as we tend to relax and really enjoy ourselves on stage which transfers to the audience too. A gig in our hometown is always important to us too and were really looking forward to doing our first live show in the lovely venue Upstairs in Kellys.
With their mix of the djs craftsmanship, terrifyingly funky percussion and blistering horns Disconauts Live get the party started every time . Expect a night of lowdown dirty house, sleazy disco and party anthems with musicianship of the highest quality guaranteed. Bring your dancin' shoes and a smile!

Only €5 admission to this one too!!
