iPad - dock keyboard vs bluetooth keyboard with stand?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? The dock keyboard seems more convenient, however I prefer to use the iPad in landscape mode which might be better facilitated by using the Bluetooth keyboard with a case/stand.

Which do you think is better?

I use the Apple wireless keyboard myself, rather than the keyboard dock and have a stand for the iPad as well (http://twelvesouth.com/products/compass/) - IMO, it's much better than the official keyboard dock, I like the flexibility of being able to use the iPad in portrait and landscape modes as needed with the keyboard. Another use which would not be possible with the keyboard dock: I leave the iPad on the coffee table with the stand and use the keyboard on my lap while sitting on the couch... great for IM sessions since it is easy enough to see the text on screen even from a bit of a distance.

Has anybody tried the wireless keyboard with the smart cover as stand for the iPad2?

I'm just wondering is the smart cover sturdy enough to hold it up for a prolonged period of time and if its at a decent angle for typing.

I bought one of these a few months ago, and it's not too bad. Though it makes it a good bit bulkier to travel around.

^ kinda defeats the purpose of getting an iPad tbh. I mean all that must weigh about the same as a MacBook Air.

I've been considering using my iPad plus keyboard for college this year but I'm not sure it's really practical.

It's not glued on, so I can still use the original cover for normal use (browsing the web etc). But as a laptop replacement for meetings etc, it's not a bad option.

Got the wireless keyboard and works well with smart cover.

My god it was simple to set up - battery already inside so took a total of about 20 seconds to pair and get going.

    Really light weight as well.

That sort of style, polish and ease of use is really making me think my next computer will be apple.

For those with the Bluetooth keyboard, do find having Bluetooth switched on to be significantly heavier on the iPad's battery? It's the only downside I can see to this setup.
