Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Burying Radiator Piping

We have recently had new radiators and boiler installed in our house. The pipes for the radiators downstairs are currently visible in the corner of my hall and the back room. At the time when we got the quote for the installation it did not include burying these pipes (in fact i naively assumed it included this), the day before the installation was due to commence i rang the company to check if the pipes would be buried, at this point they told me they had not quoted for that the installation and said it would be a good bit extra to bury the pipes. As it was the day before they started we decided to leave it as did not think it would bother us that much. However we are now looking to plaster the whole house (after a very messy rewiring job) and we are thinking that it would prob be best to try and get the pipes burried now as they are kinda annoying us. I was just wondering if anyone would know how much this might set us back, if it was only under 1000euro i'd probably get them burried but if it is any more i'd live with them being visible!
If it makes a difference both walls in question are solid walls and the floors under the radiators are concrete.
Would a registered gas installer have to carry this out?

    Thanks

There is no need to be Rgii to work on the heating pipework but it would help if you had a gas boiler.
Burying pipework is fine if done correctly, if you have a heating system that works and is balanced I would be careful not to upset it, you could ask a good chippy advise on covering it up, if you want to go a head then put effort into finding a decent plumber.

IMO the game not worth the candle here, this is not knowing how the pipework is done, ie is it buried in floors or walls etc etc?

I would get plastering done and the sleeve the pipes in pvc that you paint to match the colour behind them: u wont see them
