I pretty much tend to sleep with yore sister every night despite my best efforts to kick the habit.

Seriously; arseing around on the web til 1-2am. Normally need 8hrs sleep or I'm goosed the next day.

My sleeping pattern is bad. Its because I fall asleep in the evening sometimes though and then I can't sleep for the night leaving me all tired for college the next day.

I have an extrodinarily irregular sleep pattern. All to often going to sleep late into the night and waking up early in the morning. I also suffer from the other extreme, going to bed early and waking up early in the morning. Have often sleep for days and stayed awake for days literally.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

Horrendous. I average about 5 1/2 hours a night. I'm typing here now (and I'm usually on most nights until about now) and I have a seriously fcuking busy day in the office tomorrow that starts at 9.30 and will probably go on until 7. :( I struggle to get out of bed then at weekends, beer or no beer. I train a sh1t load too so all this lack of sleep is doing me harm I reckon. The sad thing is I know it is. One day I'll regulate it.

"To sleep, perchance to dream-ay, there's the rub."

I always gauge to be in the leaba before 00:00 to wake up and hunt for caffeinated beverages around 06:30.

Not nice at all at all, I do like my sleep.

Well at the moment my sleeping pattern is ridiculous. Tuesday-Thursday I usually get up at 6am and go to bed about 1am. Due to working breakfast in the hotel I work in. Then Friday-Monday morning I go to bed at about 4am, due to working in the bar. Usually get up at about 11am. When I'm back to college I dunno what it will be like!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,775 ✭✭✭✭kfallon

Usually in bed by midnight or half past! Up again around 8.30ish

Very light sleeper so tend to wake up a few times in the night unless heavily sedated*

When i'm workin, i'm in bed by 11 and usually up around 8. When i'm not, i'm in bed by 2am but can be awake for hours still, and up whenever i wake up-can be anything from 9am to 2pm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,466 ✭✭✭Snakeblood

I used to sleep around 8 hours, 12-8. Now I've managed to cut my sleep to 5 hours a night by simply getting a baby daughter.

Where I lay my head is home. Carved upon my stone. My body lie, but still I roam. About 7 hours a night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,597 ✭✭✭anniehoo

Im always at a weird but functional level of "slightly tired" all day but when it hits around 9pm im wide awake. Struggle to hit the leaba for 12/1am and up around 8.30am for work after about half a dozen hits of the snooze button. Im a night owl totally..hate getting up in the morning but i do get a decent amount of sleep so theres no reason for the tiredness tbh.

These days I'm in bed by about 0030 and up again at 0800. Gone are the days I used to be able to function on 4 hours sleep. These days I daren't even get too comfy on the sofa cos I'll doze off.

Bed at around 10:30-11 and up no later than 5:30 (closer to 4:30 most mornings, up for a run and work out).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,178 ✭✭✭✭NothingMan

When working in HQ into bed for 1ish up for 8:20 and roll into work for 9am.

When in Dublin city, bed by 12ish up for 6:40, 7:40 or 8:40 depending on my shift.

I can generally go on 6 hours and I'm fine. A full 8 and I do feel a bit groggy if anything.

Weekend everything's out the window so sleep in on Sunday, can't sleep Sunday night and do be wrecked on Monday.

Ye see this is what i aspire to..in my head! HOW in gods name can you get yourself out of the bed at that time to exercise? Even if i was getting paid id probably reconsider it and roll over and press the snooze button :o

    Fair play to ya!

Dear god the dreaded fear! I was mad hungover one day and was at an adventure centre. "So climb up this 30 foot pole and jump off, grab the bar and swing for a bit. Let go and the rope will catch you"

    "Eh, go fúck yourself".

Went back 2 weeks later sober and I'm a fúcking I kicked it's ass!!! The fear is real and it will get you!

Get home at 6pm, arse around and then bed target time is 10.30pm but this often extends to 11.30pm most nights.

Up at 7am and it's time for the bus. Truly ****ty life.

I try to be in bed before 1am and get up at around 8 or 9-ish. I used to have the worst sleeping pattern ever, so I'm trying to fix it atm.

Could be in bed anytime between 12am-2am. Earlier or later than that depends if I am out or have an early start the next day. Often wouldn't be awake or up until between 10am to 1pm! I need at least 9-10 hours or more to be fully refreshed and function for the day. I can get by on 7-8 hours but would end up needing a nap in the middle of day to revive me 20 mins to 2 hours tops, if its 6 hours or less, I could be tired all day, be half a sleep like, even a nap wouldn't revive me with less hours sleep. Its better for me to sleep longer, have a lie in and sleep for as long as I need than having to get up early, grumpy, not re-freshed and having to nap in the middle of the day, I end up far more worse for wear if thats the case! I'm a night owl so makes it harder for me to get to bed/sleep before midnight. Cannot sleep before 12am no matter how tired I am. I won't sleep until after 12am! Weird I know. I'm not a morning person either so an early morning rise doesn't go down too well with me, better able to get out of the bed later in the morning. Its the same story at weekends like. If I got up really early one morning, I'd have to make up for it the next morning and sleep for longer than I normally would maybe sleep for 11-12 hours to make up the lost and lack of sleep hours from the previous morning!

When you have been doing so for the last couple of years, just becomes a routine. You can do it! :)

I'm a very heavy sleeper. Can sleep through thunder! If I'm already awake and its noisey I might not get back to sleep or sleep lightly but can get into a very deep sleep very easily without trying too hard! :o

Bed at 10pm, sleep about half 12.

    Up at 9

I head off to bed around 10.30 most nights. I get up at 7.30 (although I'm usually awake at 7) and I still feel fúcked when I wake up, absolute effort to get out of bed. :( On weekends it's in and around 1am-3am, don't get up till about 1pm then. Still feel like **** when I wake up though.

I seriously wonder sometimes if I have a sleeping disorder. I could get 10 hours sleep, I feel tired. 9 hours, I feel tired. 8 hours, I feel tired. There's no perfect balance in the middle.

Generally bed between 11pm and midnight. Up by 7, whether i want to or not! My kids are early risers!
Factor in a wake up or 2 during the night from one or the other. Luckily I am an expert sleeper, falling asleep within minutes usually. Sometimes i fall asleep if i put the little fella to bed, and i lie down with him for a few minutes. Next think you know, its an hour later and im drooling!

Im like that sometimes to, why does that happen I wonder?...My sleeping pattern is fairly regular at the moment, used to be all over the place..working life changes that alas! In bed for around 12 now and up at half 7.

In the summer: Bed at 11pm, boards till 1am - 2am. Up at about 9

Now that back in college: Bed at 10pm-11pm, boards till 11.30pm-12am. Up at 7.30am.

Not too bad, but will more than likely change as semester goes on (less sleep and more boards)
