optical cable blew up?

    my playtv arrived today and i set it up flawlessly to my delight :D then about half an hour later i hear a big bang and go wtf? no sound from the optical on my ps3 so i decided to try it on my tv optical out (no joy), it looks like it was the end that was sitting in the playstation that blew. how the **** is this possible?

    Well Sony did say that Third Part accessories had a tendancy to blow up ;)!
    Was it third party, just out of curiosity?

    Hmmmm, so Sony weren't lying to us :eek: ;).
    I have no idea how to help with it, or do i even have a notion how it could have happened. Sorry man!!!!!

    I bought a new one from the sony center today, not sony branded either :rolleyes: Its working fine again happy days.
