I have been reading the posts here for a while and I got a DE based on the ravings of how good they are and I love it. My problem is I don't feel like I can shave properly with it as it is a very light razor. It cost less than a tenner.
    It's this: wilkinson_sword_classic_5637.jpg

I'm wanting to upgrade to a weightier metal DE but I don't have much cash to spare. I'd be looking for a good razor for under 20 bucks.
Can anyone recomend any? Or even where to look for one's that price?

Check the sticky Shaving Equipment - For Sale/For Trade/Free, post 70, Amalgam has a couple for sale with some extras for 25 euro.

Seems to be out of stock at the moment, but shaving.ie usually have the Edwin Jagger DE89L for under €25. My current razor, really liking it.

Under €20 and a great finish to the razor head.

    Edwin Jagger DE86 Ebony

Same head as the Mühle R106, as far as I know. Nice, classic 3 piece too. Can be taken apart for transport, change of handle etc..

So which razor would best suit me as a step up from the wilkinson sword?

I'm leaning towards the Merkur 34C 'HD' or the Edwin Jagger DE89L.
I'm not sure about the Edwin-Jagger-DE86-Ebony, I don't quite like the look of it.

I think the DE89L and DE86 have the same head, they certainly look similar in photographs. Again, I'll mention that I'm a big fan of my 89. Ultimately, the choice is yours.
