Just finished reading Clive Evertons book Black Farce and Cue Ball Wizards. Brill read and really makes you wonder what snooker could have become if it wasn't for all the internal messing around. A lot of great opportunities lost

Absolutly, I read that a couple of years back, fascinating insight and well written by one of the best journalists the game has known.
Ken Doherty's biography is being written as we speak and should be out by Xmas, another great journalist David Hendon is penning the book.

Anyone have any idea whereabouts I could pick up a copy of Snooker Scene in Dublin? Easons not being very helpful.

Cheers Zack01. Have been told I'm getting subscription from the little fella for Christmas so need to hold on for that. Was just wondering if anyone knew of anywhere that still stocked them.

More of a heads up in case anyone thinking of buying snooker books in Easons. Was looking for the new books by John Virgo and Greame Dott. Stopped in Easons and they are charging a whopping €25 each.

Picked both of them up from Amazon and the Hurricanes Last Hurrah DVD for 43 Inc P&P.

I knew Easons was pricey but didn't think they where that bad!

Buy your books on Book Depository.co.uk a lot cheaper than Amazon.
Out of curiosity why would you want to read Greame Dotts book?
If it's anything like him I can't imagine it being a great read, Ken Dohertys biography penned by Dave Henson should be with us around Xmas.

Cheers Zack01 will check out that site.

Love snooker books and just picked it up as not much to read at the min tbh! Don't get too many new snooker books (was less then 10 so no big loss). Was flicking through it and in one of the photos someone managed to mistake Chris Small for Jamie Burnett!

Looking forward to Kens book. Think Stuart Bignham has one coming out too (will prob read it aswell if nothing else to read)

Stuart Bingham and Graeme Dott ?? No offence to these guys, they`re great players but their lives havent exactly been filled with excitement, intrigue and controversy!!

Now, Kirk Stevens... theres a life story i`d like to read.

Thats a pity, i would enjoy reading a book by Stuart Bingham, ex world amateur champion, all round good guy and i'd say he'd have some great tales of playing in the snooker hotbed of Essex in the late eighties early nineties, great times over there!

I've seen copies of snooker scene at Eason's in The Pavillions (Swords).

Dott's story might be interesting if he goes into his mental illness in any depth. At least there's an angle. Doherty, I'm afraid, I have to file under nice-but-dull. Where's the story? He practices loads... gets really good... wins the world... gradually falls down the rankings... FIN.

(Bill Borrows book on Alex Higgins... now THERE is an entertaining read)
