WWE's Women's Title

    What do you consider the lineage of WWE's women's championship to be? Now deactivated for a third time, you could say the "WWF women's title" originated in '84 with Wendi Richter beating Moolah, having been the NWA champ for a specious 27 years.

    --then the title got deactivated twice, in 1990 and Dec '95, due to Rockin' Robin and Alundra Blayze leaving the WWF--

    But I'd say the WWF women's title most people think of started in September 1998 when Jacquilline beat Sable.

    When is the last time this golden egg of a title held any meaning to you?

    Never? It's important to have around but it's gaps of years when I try to think of a decent Women's championship match that might be worth rewatching.

    Well a great idea would be to get of NXT, and make it into a brand for Diva's only. Could have the Diva's Title and a Women's Tag Team Title maybe!

    But i think during the Trish Stratus / Lita / Chyna days, the Women's Title actually meant something. I mean it was the main event on RAW once (Trish Vs. Lita i think).

    When Beth and Mickie feuded for it a few years back was the last time I really cared about it. I think they do still have some talented performers like Beth, Nattie and Layla but generally the bad outweighs the good and most matches are now botchfests as they have gone for looks over athleticism.

    I think the deactivation of the title says a lot about what they think of the current crop. Personally I have no problem with the title being deactivated as it at least protects the belt from being tainted. Now they can have the likes of Kelly Kelly hold a belt and it won't seem like the tradition of the title is being tarnished. The divas title might as well be called the eye candy title.
