The Waltons

I watched "A Walton Thanksgiving" last night. It was a film made in the 90's where everybody has grown up. The grandpa was dead but the grandma was still around and boy was she ancient! It wasn't the same as the show but it was funny to see them all again. It was one of those things I ended up watching as there was nothing else on, though I think I secretly loved it! And now The Waltons tv series is going to be on a channel called True Entertainment weekdays at 5. Don't know if I have it or not but if I do I think I'll just "happen" to turn the tv on at 5...

The Waltons was a strange one. On the one hand i'd never admit to watching it at the time(which i did),just wasn't cool. On the other hand it was actually quite good from what i remember of it. I haven't seen it in a long long time and would be interested to see how it holds up now. Might have to check it out!;)

Sunday just wasn't the same without the waltons.
I saw the very first film they did. Its hard to explain why it was but it had a really dark and disturbing feel to it.
    Good night John-Boy :)

There was definitely something disturbing about this one, though it wasn't of course intentional! I saw the last few minutes of "A Walton Wedding" a few weeks ago, I must look them up and see how many there were.

Ye, it was a bit odd, I do remember seeing it before but had forgotten about it.

The time difference is too much though, the original was set sometime during the depression [1930+] and the "A Walton Thanksgiving" is set in 1963 ~ somewhere between 23 and 30 years later.

The characters have aged 20 years in real-time, based on the release date of the movies.

A bit like Little House on the Prairie. Ashamed to admit to watching it but still wouldn't like to miss it either....
    Good night Mary-Ellen.

I saw a film called stalking laura. John-Boy Walton plays a total head the ball in it. It was funny to see him so out of character.

Taped it earlier, just watched it now. It was strangely enjoyable tbh. I was expecting to hate it but it was actually very enjoyable.

Sat down with my 6 year old son to watch good old wholesome Waltons the other day. Of course it had to be an episode where Johnboy (who was 17 in the episode) was trying to learn as much as he could about sex and love! Some fellow told him to have a cold shower to get rid of his urges :)

In case you are wondering of course it wasn't a modern indoor shower but some water coming out of a hose pipe in the yard. And he kept his towel wrapped around his waist while he showered - the towel got all wet so it was kind of redundant (besides preserving his modesty)
