WWE "Retires" Another Title..

The WWE.com Title History section shows a couple interesting notes:

With all the talk about the Women's Championship being retired, I don't think anyone noticed that the original WWE Tag Team Championship has also been retired.

According to WWE.com, the "World Tag Team Championship", who's history dates back to the 70s, is considered retired, with the Hart Dynasty listed as the final champions.

The active championship, currently held by McIntyre and Rhodes, began on Smackdown in 2002.
It should also be noted that WWE has both Women's Championships listed together, with neither "retired." It could be a mistake, but I suppose we'll see when the next champion is crowned.

F*cking stupid move on WWE's part imo. As usual retire the belt with lineage for some fu*cking piece of merchindise.. Seriously this grinds my gears more than Lindsay Lohan...

    Wait. What?
So they've retired the titles but they have the titles from 2002?
What are the current belts called then?
    The roman-tag team champs?!

Champions like the Greeks of Old!

(You know the ones I mean)

Seems it's counter to what was said on TV. Which is about the only canon WWE has in continuity. Although shame on you Mr. Sobchak for not declaring that THIS IS MADNESS!

I would have thought that WWE learnt their lesson a long time ago that crossbrand titles don't work. Better to build one tag division on one brand/show then to build half a division on two.

    "THE TROJAN BRAND CONDOM TITLES"

    There goes the PG rating.

It is ridiculous though.. WWE retire the Women's title and use the butterfly one and now, the "World Tag title" belts go for the "WWE Tag Team Roman Gladiator condom titles"tm

I'm sure they'll realise their mistake and call it (or inherit the lineage of) the WWE tag team titles...it's completely retarded to start it's lineage in 2002, which has absolutely no merit.

I think at this stage we should stop referring to them as 'titles', and start referring to them instead to what they are.. because I certainly don't see what 'title' they bestow on their holder!

Weren't the "World" titles the original ones only with a changed name on RAW, and the "WWE" titles the one's created on SD! in 2002.
