Can anyone recommend a site to buy a foam roller from? I need it yesterday :o

I rang around some sports shops locally, without any luck.

    Hi Rubyk,

Would sugget you improvise if you cant get one immediately and need it that urgently.

    1. 2litre mineral bottle filled with water (Leave room for expansion).... into freezer... and use this as a roller. Ice will also have a cooling effect on the site

    2. Wavin 4 inch pipe wrapped in a towel. May be harder than a foam roller, but can do the trick

    3. Rolling Pin... self explanatory... and painful.

    4. If its for the ITB or Calves, get one of those long tubular swimming floats and cut about 18" (45cm) and use that. Good in an emergency.

Hope this helps... and saves you a bob!!

You can get a good foam roller from Functional Training Ireland. They are located at 29 Upper Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2. It's not far from Leeson Street or Baggot Street. Cost €25 I think. I use it all the time and find it very good!

Don't know where locally is to you but Cycle Superstore in Tallaght also had them last time I was there.

There's a few online stores as well. I got one from www.physioneeds.ie They're based in Dublin, but delivery was fairly swift iirc.

Site not the easiest to find stuff. Here are the foam rollers

    +1 on the above.

Having plenty of building supplies left over from renovating my gaff, I wrapped 2 layers of a cheap camping foam mat around some 4 inch wavin and cant believe the change in my legs and IT band since. Foam rolling FTW

Another vote for the rolling pin.

My OH thinks it is hilarious, but it has done my tight ITB the
    world of good.

I impulsively bought this in Boston last year at the marathon expo - but to be honest, overpriced as that glorified plastic rolling pin was, it is worth its weight in gold.

Ordered one from physioneeds.ie (thanks plodder!).

I'll make do with the water bottle/rolling pin until it arrives.

Thanks for all the suggestions :)
