No Satalite signal on sky???

    Anyone have any help?

    We have the normal sky plus box and when something is recording we can ONLY watch that channel if we change it the recording fails!! Also if we set a simple reminder when the time comes and we press select to view the programme the channel changes and then an error message comes up " No satalite signal is being received plug out box at the mains and wait for 5mins!!"

    I just cant figure it out but surely it should happen!!
    Any help appreicated!!!

    sounds like your second line from the lnb on the dish is not working properly....check your connections at the back of the box.....hopefully its something simple like that...if not then get on the phone to sky and demand a fix.

    Has it always been like this or did it work correctly before?

    Check your signal strength for your two inputs. Press 'Services' then 4 and then select 6 for signal test. Both inputs should show a signal.

    Also try resetting your LNB - it might cure your problem.


    It may also be a loose connection or a broken wire. I had a similar problem a while back and it turned out that a carpet tack had pierced the cable for input 2.
