Can you foster and be full time employed?

This is probably a stupid question, but it came up in conversation at a family dinner tonight and the table was divided as to the answer.

Say you have a couple who are both full time employed - can they apply to be foster parents? Or is being a poster parent something that is considered akin to a job by the hse?

I assumed it was akin to a job and you needed to be available full time to care for the child? Or is it that a couple could foster and then send the child to day care as a normal working couple would!?

    It's an interesting one....

There are no hard and fast rules. But it does depend on the needs of the child.
