E90 - problems

One or two things are happening after getting car serviced.

Everytime I lock car, after an hour or two/three, the alarm goes off and will keep going off.

When driving along, bonnet open indication appears. Also the brake pads indication comes up telling me to change them.

Brought the car back after the service after these things started happening, and they still havent been fixed. Bringing it back tomorrow for them to have another look.

Also the steering squeaks when steering the car - should also have been fixed at service

I have tried locking the car manually to no avail - alarm still goes off.
    Bonnet open should be fixed.
Brake pads dont need to be changed as they are perfect - possible sensor issue (Could be sensor issue with bonnet too)

Anyone else have ideas I could try?

One of the main problems sounds like the bonnet switch. Have you checked that it's mounting is ok? Should be very cheap to replace this. It could even be bi-passed to check this is the problem.

Sounds like the brake pads warning could be the sensor alright. With the right diagnostic tool, it's possible to read the value of this sensor from the cluster. It will probably also set a 'check control' code which you can read your self.

If you lock the car manually, it shouldn't arm the alarm. So if your alarm goes off when the car is locked manually, it's usually a sign that the battery is loosing power. No harm to throw a voltmeter across it.

Bonnet switch is easy to check. Locate it, have someone sit in the car watching the light, and push the switch yourself manually. If the light goes off, then it's some sort of alignment issue with where the bonnet meets it, if it doesn't, new switch time.

The brakes are most likely just a sensor which was never renewed along with the pads. If you're ever in Cork I can hook it up to my diagnostic rig and see what's going on in there, but they all sound like trivial problems which have come all at once.
