Converting American Camcoder Tape?

Hi,
Hoping someone here can help - I got married in the States and there was a video of it, the camera man told me it would be really easy to convert this tape to view in Ireland but I left it in a photo shop and they couldn't convert it!

Anyone any tips? Was the camera shop I picked just really bad? Surely this can be converted??

It should be possible, maybe the guys in the shop just didn't have a clue, try these out mate...

Thank you both, you've given me a great idea for a gift for my mother, she has loads of old cinefilms that I'll get converted onto dvd for her to see for the first time Thanks so much, I'd say she'd be thrilled with that!

Typical...it's probably fairly simple, will contact those 2 shops you mentioned,
