    Hi all.
Well I had my first proper Skirmish yesterday, and I absolutely loved it and am now in the process of looking for a gun that's in my price range of €200 max.

At the moment I'm torn between 3 guns
    -Classic Army M15A4 Sportsline
    -JG G36C
    -SRC M4

Which gun should I go for?
or can you recommend a better gun in my price range?

    Thanks.

I'd love a G&G Raider, but lowest price I've seen it is 220 :( 200 is the max I'd go.

Then wait till you have €220, it's one of the better guns a beginner (or anyone) could get. You won't regret the extra outlay over something like a CA Sportsline which will let you down..I know because I had one:)

Looks like I'll be holding out for quite a while ;D Atm I only have 100, because I ended up spending like 70 euro yesterday while at L.A.C.
A 15 year old student, with no form of income other than my parents xD FML.
Going to have to try sell some stuff I have to make the remaining 120 :D What would be the best site to buy a Raider from? :D

There's a good few that sell them:

    Eirsoft

SeAirsoft - Don't know if they're in stock atm.

    Hobbyairsoft

    and a few others:)

It's the same gun from each so it's down to you.

G&G raider as well - easily as good as most 'high end' aegs, but at a fraction of the price.

Any idea where I could get one for a decent price? (Within Ireland)

Best bet is to go with one of the combo packs, tony in eirsoft has them and they come with battery and charger and a little bag of bbs too, everything to get ya going :)

If you go to LAC then give Tony from Mid West Airsoft a buzz as he is there most weekends and you could have a look and a feel of any thing he has in stock if you as him to bring it along
I think it is very important to handle them before you buy as what looks good in a picture may be a lot different to what you thought when you handle it in the flesh

I was talking to Tony yesterday actually. He said he had a perfect starter kit for me, an AK or something he was saying? I'm not too into the AK's tho. I've seen him use his Raider and it looks beast.

I would recomend a Raider to anyone or any G&G for that matter
IMO they are some of the best value for money there is and very reliable and well made

Choosing any Airsoft device is (usually) decided by the following pattern, and since you're already hooked on Skirmishing, I'd recommend this method.

    A) Decide what you think looks the best. At this stage, you're being idealistic - so go crazy. Don't even factor in price, or to a lesser extent, availability. Also, practicality does not come in at this stage...because when thinking of what you like the look of, it can be hard to seperate images of you being a one-man army behind enemy lines :D

    B) When you've settled on something you like the look of, start looking for manufacturers/brands. Here is where you start to get a little bit more realistic. Start looking up reviews, pictures, videos etc of the gun of choice. Weigh up the pros and cons against the price, and ask yourself is it worth it.

    C) To help you decide between brands, have a wee look into what parts are compatible, and look into upgrades. This can help give you a clearer picture of what you're actually looking for.

    D) If you're lucky, try out each of the options, settling on what you like the best.

Of course, this is only partly true. You've also got our friend, Mr. Impulse Buy who by-passes all but the last stage :D

In my honest opinion, Airsoft is a game of fun - your choice in equipment is a big factor in your enjoyment. If you do not like a piece of equipment, then this will annoy and limit the fun involved. I'd strongly advise, especially for a first gun, buying something you like the look and feel of. There is no point in you buying a shít hot gun, just because we recommend it, if you hate it.

Hobby Airsoft in Rathcoole have them - drop Sci-Ops, Sarsoft or Ricka a line on the Hobby Airsoft thread in the retailers section - I was in there on Saturday and they'd the raiders in stock (long and short barrel versions if I remember correctly).

Can you buy online? Living down in Limerick myself like and don't really plan on going all the way just for a gun if you know what I'm saying.

G&G Raider is top class but if your looking for something less expensive as your first gun id go for the full metal dboys m4.. it was my first gun i skirmished it for over a year and never let me down! its a real work horse of an aeg. ya should be able to pick one up for 150e from eirsoft.

Have a trawl through the adverts section and you might see a bargain or something unique.

if your looking at a G36C go for the SRC ,
completely blows the jg version away for around 200-220 depending on where you buy ,

nylon fiber and steel parts vs abs and metal parts ie, diecast

the SRC is a lot more hefty and come with 3 rails installed in the hand guard as standard

    excellent range too

SRC seem to be an amazing company, stamped steel mp5, nylon fibre and steel g36's, and so cheap, I must get one of their guns.
