No free sky sports on UPC today?

So the link says it's free from 6am today but nothing there, just the access denied screen. was looking forward to watching the matches at home today but was apprehensive about whether UPC would unlock the sky sports channels for the day.

Anyone else having the issue? I'll be calling them at 10am to see what the story is anyway as they have it advertised on the home page

They were actually advertising it on the phone when you rang up during the week.

"yes there is a lot of calls coming through with that issue alright, i'll just have to put that through to the engineers for you"

after a few minutes more hold music

"yes we are aware of this issue, if you leave the box on now those channels will come through in the next hour or so"

So thats a definite then if UPC say so :rolleyes:

It was meant to be switched on since 6am this morning.

Unbelievable as usual the way UPC treats its custom base.

I just spent 40 mins on lo call upc number then only to be told they couldnt send an engineer out until wednesday?,i said i didnt need an engineer so after explaining again about the free sky sports offer for the day,the guy just said oh theres a problem with that and they hope to have it sorted in the afternoon...

whats the point...

Hi, got through to UPC and they said it should be available from 12pm on the 26/09/2010. They said they apologies for the delays, but it should be free for a few hours today. At least it is something

Unbelievably bad service, should be expected at this stage.
How long have UPC had to get ready for this?
Sky have been advertising their Free Sky Sports day for weeks at least and obviously UPC did no checks prior to today to see if they could roll it out problem free.
Amazing levels of incompetence.

Depends how much you like football. The utd game is on ESPN today which isn't included in the offer. The two other games are:

• Wolves V Villa
• Stoke V Newcastle

And then there's golf from paris...

still no free sky sports. once again UPC seem unable to complete what should be a relatively straight forward task....:mad: I mean its not like this was sprung on them at the last minute.

I think the TV highlights listed above are the actual 'free' stuff we can watch.

Which explains why SS2 and SS4 are now available. SS1 comes available at 13:30 for the first Super Sunday match.

This is how I guess it works. Atleast I hope so as I wanna watch the football.

You really are underestimating UPC'S level of Incompetency. I think they rushed on ss2 and ss4 because they are the stations showing live sport.

As soon as the UPC hamster gets up to speed, i am sure they will turn on ss1 and 3.

All sports channels are on FREEview today not just certain games!

Ask any sky customer without a sub and they'll have them all working fine!!

Wow. They are all on now... incredible work from UPC, only 7 hours late.

I'm afraid to change the channel from SS1 in case it goes again!

I wonder if I'll be charged a subscription upgrade for this...
