HI, i bought a Wii from a friend. When I put the disc in it kinda goes in, comes out, goes in and comes out again and stays out.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is or where I can get it fixed?

    Thanks

Your "friend" should be giving you your money back, or at least paying for the console to be repaired.

You should probably go to your local GAME/GameStop and ask someone there.

ahh its next to impossible to mess up all you do is unhook 2 cables from the dvd drive hook those two cables to the new drive and put the wii back together
    Its really very very simple

what else could it be ?
the wii boots up fine dosent it ?
works normally besides the drive being knackered ?
only thing it could be is the dvd drive

If you don't want to send your console in for repairs and you don't feel like messing about with its innards either, you could always softmod your Wii. All you need is an SD Card and a copy of Bannerbomb. From there you can install the Homebrew Channel, a custom IOS and a USB loader.

You'll then be able to play all of your legitimately purchased games over an external USB hard-drive, no DVD drive needed! Just a thought. There should be a nice guide for most of the procedure over in the Console Modding forum, let me get you a link.. ah yes, here we go. And this guide will help you with the cIOS installation, etc. Hope that helps you!

Thanks for your advice but the system in my wii is 4.3e and the only way that I can soft mod it is with LEGO Indiana Jones, which means that I need the Dvd drive for it.

    I'm in a corner her

The loading mechanism in the slot drive is either banjaxed, or there's something blocking it. The console needs to be repaired so either get somebody to fix it, or have a go yourself ;)
