Just tried to start the Gas Heating for the first time in months and the reading for the water is on zero and should be at 2 bar, I tried to fill it but its not filling. Could it be air locked ? if so how do I fix it ?

If there was an airlock you should still get some reading on the pressure gauge. Have you noticed any leaks? are you leaving the top up valve open long enough? 2bar is very high for a system too, it should only be 1bar cold fill.

When I turned the valve to fill it I heard the water move and could feel it starting to flow, then it just stopped. No sign of a leak. I left it on foe about five minutes but its still on zero.

check again they may be two valve that have to be opened

1 bar (cold) should be plenty of pressure

Can you take any pictures of the filling point and the boiler and gauge and post them?

Mine is an ariston and there is 2 valves to be opened so it could be that. Also if mine goes below a certain pressure (not sure exactly what pressure) it wont fire. OP does yours fire ? Just wondering because maybe there is something wrong with the gauge.

Sounds like the gauge could be gone. I could be wrong though. Better to get a professional to look at it.

0.8bar is the pressure if it's an Ariston CLAS. (Great boiler)

Am I right in thinking that if the pressure is too low it will turn off ?

Thats the way it is with mine. Not sure about other systems. See the manual and it should tell you.

I ran the heating for about twenty minutes and all seem to be normal apart from the gauge reading zero still. May just be a faulty gauge although the system is only 3 years old.
