Not sure if this is retro cos I've seen loads of kids collecting them when I've been walking the dog this week.. But rememeber collecting conkers as a kid? A sign that the evenings would be getting darker and crisp, the smell of the coal fires and the few weeks waiting for Hallowe'en :pac:

It's something i don't see the kids around my way collecting and playing any more. It was a big part of my childhood, used to love scouring the grass beneath the trees for them.

The kids now are probably playing EA Sports Conkers 2010 on their playstations!:p

I used to keep my prized, shiny ones in jewellery boxes that my Mam gave me. :p

Throw on the old varnish for double-strength. Used to collect conkers all the time, as there were mass amounts of fields up behind me with lots of conker trees!
