Is this sold out already, been trying since 09.00am on ticket master, and getting no luck for any amount of tickets? Trying for 4 ideally.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 179 ✭✭Manofthewest

Been trying here since 9am also... not even a wait.. just goes straight to 'no exact match' for two seated tickets. Strange!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,027 ✭✭✭eddiem74

Just called their ticket booking line 0818 719 300 and there was a recorded message saying if you are calling for Childline don't bother waiting as their is no availability.

Looks like O2 priority must have taken the lot?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,397 ✭✭✭dillo2k10

I tried on Wednesday to get childline tickets via Priority.
There were people wueing since 4am at the front of the que in fonthill and tickets were gone before the computer was even turned on. The same when my friend was trying to buy online at 9.
The told us that someone must have made a large group booking.
I called yesterday to make a group booking (32) and they told us that this concert has a strict limit of 8 per person and there would be no group bookings available.

Thats because tickets are still available in scattered seats. But none that anyone wants.

They sold out in seconds, that must be a record?

Well no matter what number of tickets I tried on ticketmaster, 1, or 4, I could get nothing back ?? Time to give up and break the bad news. :(

Its absolutely crazy...I was onto ticketmaster on the phone and online at same time, exactly 9 and they were sold out. How can this be.. sold out in 2 or 3 seconds.. Priority is only supposed to be 10% of the tickets so how could 90% be sold in 3 seconds. I've bought tickets for this every year and just can't believe it. I see people are now selling them for 140 euro each!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 179 ✭✭Manofthewest

I wonder did anyone actually get to buy a tickets online this morning?

Yea and you will probably get people selling them for even more.

A few people in tallaght got to buy some in the store. Buy I didnt find anyone who got to buy them online. I thought the woman was joking when she said they were all sold out.

I know that there getting everything for free but they should try to get another one on. They could do a few of them and they would all sell out.

There seems to be something not quite right about all this. I was online and on the phone trying from just before 9 till about 10 and no luck. For a gig this size it would be impossible to sell out in 3 seconds??? The ticketmaster system wouldnt be able to handle it. I wonder if they are actually sold out?
    Anyone got any further updates?

    From tickmaster website :
"Due to demand The Cheerios Childline concert at The O2 is now sold out."

there will be work opportunities on a voluntary bases at the gig. No guarantee that you would get in to see it. Must have manual handling training or safepass.

Edit: it would be a good opportunity to see how things work backstage and do work for a great cause.

Anyone know if, because of the worsening weather conditions the Childline Concert on Friday could be affected?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12 lisamp

Does anyone know if this is still going ahead tomorrow?
I wont be able to make it due to the weather and dont know what to do with my 3 tickets?!

My wife rang the 02 earlier and apparently there is a recorded message saing it is going ahead.

Unless there is a change in the weather for the better tomorrow we are going to have two very dissppointed little girls. There's no way Im risking it with them in this weather. If it was me on my own fair enough. Maybe I'll bring them to see Rush instead. :D

If you live near a town with a train station, they're all up and running (subject to delays, of course)..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,662 ✭✭✭magnumlady

I read on twitter that it is going ahead. They are doing soundchecks at the moment.
