clicking problem with ASIO4all v2

    Hi,

I'm having an issue that very often(8 out of 10 times) when I play back what i record I get continuous clicking.

I am using asio4all as the master for 3 asio interfaces and use reaper.

If when the problem starts I de-select asio4all and reselect it the issue goes and playback is fine.

It doesn't seem to be a typical latency issue to me as it happens when I have the buffers at maximum size on the 3 interfaces. I have seen some talk of buffer overruns and so on but I don't know/understand how that manifests itself on a track. My noobness is making it a little hard to work out how to resolve it.

I imagine that deselecting the asio4all and reselecting it again in some way resets it and resolves the problem but it is getting seriously annoying.

Is this a typical problem of using asio4all for so many interfaces or can I do something about it?

any help or pointers or insight into the issue would be really appreciated.

The only time I have ever had problems with both Asio4All and the stock asio driver that came with my interface was when my internal firewire card wasnt up to scratch.

Once I got a firewire express card (Texas Instruments) all issues were fixed and I hadn't the need for Asio 4 all anymore.

Though, wouldnt having different interfaces set at different buffers cause a problem? I thought one driver should call the shots.

The only reason I use asio4all is that it is the only way I can run the 3 interface at the same time.

I have a samson c01u and an emu0404 and a line 6 tone port gx.

if I have the emu0404 or the toneport as the main asio driver then I have no input from the C01U.

is there another way to do this?
