Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You own house insurance should pay for any damage the leak does.

what is the limit on a contractors insurance covering such issues , is it within a year or would it depend on the claim and a reasonable period of time ?

    hi

The leak is under the ground somewhere had another plumber pressure test it and put in leak sealer it is still losing pressure, he told me i will have to get specialised crowd in to find leak or leaks, so was hoping the original plumbers insurance might cover it, or am i better off going through my own insurance.Someone told me plumbers have to cover a major problem for 7 years

thanks for your help i am new at this

For starts, are you sure he is a legitimate company and that he is insured. If he is you can claim for any damage and repair work through his insurance if he is not willing to come and repair the work. You might also have to prove that it was in fact his negligence that cause the leak or was there other trades involved.

5 years is a long time in the plumbing game, by now you wont be able to claim of his insurance' he'll say that it was ok when he tested and commissioned the job. and the fact you got somebody else in to look at the job wont go in your favour and an engineer would of also signed of the house saying every thing was within building regs..

it would be cheaper to get the leak sorted out by a good plumber than try to fight it.

True and if you insurance company think they have a chance, they will pay out and then pursue the original plumber.
