I'm looking for a cocktail type dress for tomorrow evening and only have a few hours to look around Dublin city centre for one. Has anyone any suggestions as to where I should go? The cheaper the better, too! :)

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Oasis usually have a few little cocktail dresses, they're usually around eighty euro I think. Actually at the minute they have a special range of LBDs in and there's pretty much a black dress for every occasion there. Warehouse too usually have a few pretty cocktail dresses.

I've been dress shopping all day!!

    I'd try

    - Coast
    - River Island
    - Warehouse.

Normally I'd say warehouse but the whole range seems to be one shoulder at the moment. Coast and Karen Millen always have suitable items, if you can justify the price.

You might get something in Jesire in BT, I haven't been in in ages so don't know if they have the more evening part of the collection in yet. Or H&M might have something on a budget.

On a time limit, I'd go Grafton St - oasis/coast/reiss/warehouse/BT - should cover all of those in 3 hours? Oh, maybe Chica?

I always preshop online anyway to get an idea of what the various places might have.

    Arnotts!

    Coast
    Fran & Jane
    Mango
    Miss Sixty
    Tommy Hilfiger
    Hayworth Vintage

And loads more that I just cannot think of.... Whole top floor is practically dresses.

Thanks for all the tips. Ended up going to Coast in the end as it was the only shop where I didn't fall in between sizes!

Ended up buying this. Not quite what I set out to buy, but it was the only dress that fitted me properly and wasn't either too short or way too long!

I tried to do that, but I found a lot of the shops didn't have the same items (or at least the ones I like) as displayed on the website.

There's such a lack of party dresses in the shops! I think it's just a bit early for Christmas party stuff. Need to find something for my 21st and shops do be failing me! Hoping for more wintry stuff in the next two weeks.

The dress you got is gorgeous Convert. Love the shape, Sexy, but still understated ;)

That dress is gorgeous! If I wasn't completely broke til payday I'd be very tempted to buy it myself!
