Tunisia & Morocco

Would like to travel to both these countries, so I was thinking that I might take a fortnight to visit them both at the same time.

Has anyone here done this before? I have been looking about flights to Dublin - Tunisia and Morocco-Dublin.
But if anyone has gone from Tunisia to Morocco, have they flown, or by bus? I know a bus journey could be nasty, but it is a nice way to see the countryside....

And also, when would the best time to visit?

    Many thanks

Don't know anything about going to Tunisia, but there's plenty to see in Morocco and the government has clamped down on people harassing tourists so ignore what anyone who was there a few years ago says to you.

Ryanair and Easyjet both fly to Morocco from England.

So long as you wanna see culture, you'll enjoy it. It's not a place for going on the sauce.

No idea on flights between Tunisia and Morocco, but the border between Morocco and Algeria is closed for a whole host of geopolitical issues.

    Good luck. :)

Cant talk about internal cheap travel.

But, have a look at Michael Palin's book "Sahara" before you go. It will open your eyes and open your mind.

Been to Morocco and its well worth a few weeks, especially recommend going down to the Sahara at Merzouga and doing a one or two night desert trip on camels with some Bedouin nomads. The sand dunes down there are massive and its where Hollywood goes when they need desert scenes for filums.
Chefchaoen is also a cool chilled little mountain village which is good for a few days.

Ain't been to Tunisia, I know it has Carthage, a very old Roman city but have heard the hassle there can be unbearable. You do know Algeria stands in your way of the two- Im guessing flights between Marrakesh/Fez to Tunisia one way wouldn't be that cheap and then getting back home from Tunisia one way could be pricey too.

I'd just stick with Morocco for now- 3 weeks is ideal as it is a big place with plenty to see & do.
If you do go to Tunisia there are ferries from there to Malta & Sicily and possibly Italy too from where you could get a budget flight home after spending a few days R&R on a beach after a hectic North African adventure.

Alternatively you could forget about Morocco and get a one way to Cairo, see some of Egypt, then go to Libya (yes it is open and foreigners are very welcome) and then into Tunisia before home. This is big distances though so you'd need at least 5/6 weeks in all to do it right.
