So I have being only with 1 guy and he says he is clean and it was his first time with a guy, we just had oral no anal but still want to get tested. I understand I may have to wait some time as HIV might not show up for 3-6 months but can't bear waiting that long :( God forbit I caught it. What about other general STD's, should I be looking out for symtons? it has being 5 days but I fine but that says nothing. Also I'm not out so please don't tell me to go to the clinic in baggot street, i want to go to a general clinic that does this because I want to keep things private as possible, :(

Firstly its close to impossible to get HIV from oral sex. You effectively need to have open sores in your mouth for it to happen

HIV only starts to appear after a few weeks even with the most modern testing and its not that reliable.

Most other STDs can be detected within two weeks, Hepatitis can't really.

If you don't want to go to the GMHP or your own GP you've got two choices - a general hospital (James' for Dublin, free) or any other GP (60-120 euro). A GP will generally do a blood only test, hospitals will take swabs which can show stuff up a bit earlier.

Also, I'd advise ensuring you've immunity to Hepatitis A and B, you can get around admitting why by saying you're going abroad and were told to get a course of Twinrix. This isn't particularly cheap but its free at the GMHP...

Thank you, that was extremely helpful, you see the thing is I do have 1 or 2 spots around my mouth (acne) so that is why I am concerned...
