Just looking to know can you plug ipad onto an ipod dock?

I don't have an ipod touch and was going ot get one mainly for internet radio on my ipod dock but might hold off if the ipad can work on my ipod dock?

Do you need a special cable or adaptor?

There are iPad docks available but the chances of it working on an old dock is remote as even the newer iPhones don't work in older docks.

Not directly anyway. Ipad is a tad larger then the ipod/iphone.

I live in the sticks and i was recently extremely impressed with my sons touch ipod and all the radio apps.

I already have an ipod classic for music.

Ordinary radio reception is bad here in Offaly and i want all those radio apps on my original ipod dock. I would prefer to but an ipad but only if it could connect to the ipod dock for the internet radio otherwise think ill just get a basic ipod touch for the purpose of internet radio mainly :o

That's exactly the reason why I got mine. In my opinion the best radio apps are Tune In and Wunder Radio.

Not being an Apple fan I have to say that the device is so clevery made and such a pleasure to use.
