    Sky plus app on android
Hi folks, just thinking, I have manually tuned in ch5 on my sky box and can access it via services, other channels, and its there, can watch it etc, but can't record.

On sky app for android, if you change your region to the north, channel 5 appears on the sky plus app, and it allows me to select a program to be recorded, will these programs be recorded when I get home, or am I set for disappointment?

    Anyone tried this yet?

Doesn't work. If it's not in the EPG your box will not record it.

There was a method published a few weeks back allowing you to watch and record CH5, ITV2 etc if you have a 'Freesat from Sky' UK white card and an active Irish Sky sub.

Nothing to do with Sky. The channels themselves restrict access of UK channels on the Irish EPG for various reasons, usually copyright.

i used to be able to record on my sky+ box by resetting at the mains and removing the card until the uk epg loads. now i have sky+hd and no matter what you do the irish EPG remains as the epg is now stored as cache on the HDD. no way round it now.
