Friend of mine competes in MMA, he's a committed Christian. It's just a sport imho, much like Boxing or fencing or soccer or whatever else. So long as you aren't doing it for the wrong reasons, I see no problem with it.

My husband is an instructor, only it's a different form of Japanese Karate. No problem whatsoever....Why would there be a problem?

Don't some martial arts have religious connotations? Don't know where I heard it, but I heard somewhere that for martial arts have some religious ceremony involved in them. Might be wrong, but like the OP, I'd ask the question too before I began.

Some certainly have spiritual elements. Many years ago when I wanted to be a ninja (I should really start more conversations with this line) I briefly attended ninjutsu classes. Each class began with a brief spiritual ceremony.

Haha, too right! I remember as a kid, telling some school friends that I was a ninja. It was a wind up on one person that kinda got outta control:)It was funny until the best 'scrapper' in the year approached me and said, 'So I hear you're a ninja. Wanna fight?' Get this, I told him it was against my 'Ninja code'. Needless to say, he bet the feck outta me:D

    Lies people, its not clever:)
