Hmm possibly better aimed at the ES section but each case would have its distinct factors.
Your driving is meant to assume the unexpected.

Example 1 You are travelling behind a Mondeo on the M50 it slams on the brakes for no reason and you hit it.

Example 2 You are travelling behind a Mondeo on the M50 it slams on the brakes due to a obstruction on the road and you hit it.

Your driving is at fault in both cases. His action does not justify your lack of attention that why tail gating is illegal. However this is just an observation I would be interested to hear if legally the Mondeo can be held to account by law in either case.

what if ur driving and someone from aother side of road turns on front of u and u slam on ur breaks and ur vehicle slides and u go to other side of road and hit the car that was actually behind him. he wasnt involved but for the fact he turned on front of u ya wouldnt of had to hit the breaks.

It is perfectly possible for the driver who appeared to have carried out a dangerous and illegal manoeuvre to be held accountable. Every road user has a duty of care to all other road users and breach of it leading to damage is actionable. In all of these case the insurance companies will sort it out between themselves.

If u wr needin to slide 2 the other side of road and hit the car that was actually behind him u wr drivin 2 fast.

You can be charged with careless and/or dangerous driving, even if there was NO accident if the Gardaí/DPP think it warrented.
