I've heard rumours that there exists a golf club repair man, from the Clontarf area, called Mick Murphy (?)

Legend has it he works out of a garage/lockup near the coast road and does excellent work at a good cost.

Seeing as I was quoted 120Euro's () to replace the NV shaft on my G5 Driver I thought I'd see if any of you guys could confirm if Mick exists or is indeed a myth?

Seriously though, if he's real, or there's someone out there who can replace the shaft for me before Sun, it would be a lifesaver cheers.

I too heard this about 3 years ago and went looking for him with a vague location, for the life of me couldn't find him :) Still don't know if he exists !!

E120 including fitting for a genuine NV shaft is not that expensive to be honest. Shaft will cost around E75, plus delivery, grip and fitting costs.

    He does....

Did great work on my old Prosimmon Driver many years ago.

The narrower a man’s mind, the broader his statements.

he lives on Vernon Avenue. It is the second last red brick terrace house before the old Holy Faith hockey pitch on Vernon opposite Nolans supermarket.

I don't think he'll object to me putting his details up here:

No address but the Google maps link is :

    http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&so...=UTF8&t=h&z=18

You access his workshop down a small laneway just off Vernon avenue. Go down it, left then down to the bottom.

    His numbers are 01 833 9230/087 919 6531 - Michael Murray. Good luck.

Apologies to Mods if this is not correct, take it down if so obv. Cheers.
