Well lads i have a decent-ish 3 month old beard & its coming along nicely. Trouble is now that it has become noticably thicker in appearrance im not sure if it suits me to be honest.
See im going fairly bald on top. I shave my head regularly to limit the obviousness of my ongoing baldness & im not sure guys with tightly shaved heads suit beards.

Whats the general opinion on this look? Would i be better of shaping my beard into a goatee? Im very reluctant to take on the dreaded goatee look, it reminds me of David Brent!!:(

    Thought/advice please?...

If you dress in leather and ride a big motorbike, I think you have the look just right.

Google images is your friend, google bald guys with beards and see what your reaction is.

    This doesn't look bad

    Whereas this looks ridiculous,

    beard~2.jpg

It all depends on the lenght of the facial hard against the head hair.

The dude in the first photo doesn't really have a beard though? Is that not stubble?

The second guy's head looks like an egg with a beard. Literally.:D:D

    Thanks for the decent contribution.

The first one is not 'bald'

The second one is a convict! :p

Michael G has been infracted for his comment. I think we should leave it at that. I'd appreciate if others didn't make comments such as this in the forum.

Back to the topic at hand... I always think it looks quite odd if someone has a shaved head and a beard that just starts at the top of their ears. It does work on some people though. There are plenty of beard styles that you could use that don't draw attention to this... or perhaps go for a moustache on its own.

I think it's a great look and pretty fashionable at the moment - a lot of UFC fighters have a similar style and it really suited Jeff Bridges in Iron Man. Actually Bridge's in that movie looks especially good because of how the sideburns were shaved to curve upwards to the ear - hard to explain but you can see what I mean here.
