Got a second box in my apartment a couple of days ago (standard digital, non-PVR, silver "UPC MediaBox") and I noticed last night that the sound is out of sync. Seems to be on all channels.

On my other box (UPC HD box) there is an option in settings to sort out sound sync issues, but there doesnt seem to be an equivalent setting on my MediaBox. Anything else I can do to try sort this out?

Ive already tried the classic "unplug for a minute and plug back in"...

Have similar problem. Got the new upc hd box this week. Have Samsung tv and feeding sound via hi fi (new), through the new upc box. Sound comes first, then speaking on tv. very off-putting, as delay is so bad. Did you get a solution by any chance? Have a guy calling tomorrow and see what we can do. Saw over on AV Forums that feeding via headphone on tv to hi-fi is possible answer. Also -suggested feeding via dvd. Will see what the guy says tomorrow, and if he sorts it out, will get back to you.

On the HD box there is a setting in the settings menu to sync up the sound. Might be worth having a play around with that.

Where exactly! Have gone into "Menu", there are three options, guide, settings, radio. Then went into "settings". What do I do next? Thanks again, did you get it sorted.

Menu >> settings >> tv settings >> hdtv audio synchronization.

No i didnt get it sorted yet. My problem isnt on a hd box so i dont have that setting.

Do you get a delay if you run the upc box straight into the tv?

Didn't try that yet. Am waiting on the guy to call. He might know. I don't have that choice in the settings. Have looked throughout the entire menu.
Sound is fine via scart, and was fine (till new box put in) via 3.5 jack and twin phono through hi fi. Thanks again for your effort and advice. Saw over on the AVForums it's also a problem in England. Mad.

Are you sure its definately the HD box yeah? You mentioned in the other thread that you have the silver box but the HD box is black. Its also strange that you dont have that setting on the HD box.

You could be right. The box is a DC621KU and saw on another site it's manufactured by Pace. It's interesting that the deal was for extra channels plus HD. So am going to get on to UPC and see exactly what it is they are supplying via the deal. That's likely why the sound is ahead of the picture.

It might not be the reason that the sound is out of sync, but it certainly sounds as if you have the same problem I have with the same box! The HD box isnt made by Pace, its made by Cisco as far as I know.

Yes, seems so, expected a guy to call today, but didn't - but he will call over and have a look. Also noticed a "Digital Out" beside the two phono outlets! Wonder would that be of any use, with a cable for Digital, as the hi fi takes the digital imput!! Might check that out.The old grey one in the bedroom, isn't as bad, is almost in sync. They (UPC guys) seem to have split the signal in original one, as now two coaxial coming out of that one, then through the wall, and remounted one on bedroom wall. They fitted the new Pace one in bedroom, and it's so awkward, when I saw this - asked could he not have done opposite, and said too much as would have to re-wire again! I.E 10 mins. to switch. So have just ran the wires of each in opposite direction, temporarily.
Saw also somewhere, that signal can be sent via DVD player. Is that possible and easy to do?

So an update. The technician (UPC) came yesterday. He tried the TV direct to signal and same problem. He couldn't fix it. Has gone away to check the signal from source. Said they had this problem earlier in year but thought it was fixed. So still in this situation, and he is to get back to me. Asked about the HD black box and he thought it was a better one. But other posts also say it too causes problems.
Why oh why can't they get it sorted, or keep people up to date!! If not sorted soon, am going to go somewhere else!!! Vote with my feet!!!
