Whether it's because the unit isn't selling as well as Sony had hoped, or because they are really trying to push the future use of the PSP Go, this particular offer sees Sony giving away 10 games with any purchase of the PSP Go.

Just sign up to a PSN Account, install a free wallpaper, and they'll be mailed to you. The codes are then valid until June 2011.

2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
Gran Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
    Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines
    Gran Turismo
    LittleBigPlanet
    Motorstorm Arctic Edge
    Wipeout Pure
    Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice
    Need for Speed Shift
    James Cameron's AVATAR: The Game

Of that list, there's at least 4 I would have bought anyway with a PSP, and 2 I would consider. It's not a bad list and other then Avatar there doesn't look to be a really duff game.

It's a good offer and I was thinking of going for it. I've got a 3000 already but I dunno.

Is this an online only purchase or can you purchase from Gamestop etc?

I think its a deal Sony themselves are doing to try sell off the massive stock of PSPGo clogging up their warehouses. Personnaly I want a PSP but none of those games really interest me.

I've seen it advertised in GAME, so it's not just online.

It's tempting, but I don't think I could justify the extra €100 for the Go. What you'd save getting the free games, you lose having to buy everything else from the PSN.

Agree with the above post. It's about €164 for the PSP 3000. I dunno if an extra €100 justifies the PSP Go. It looks like a good piece of kit but having no UMD's is a right kick in the balls.

For anyone asking about game and gamestop, this is from Sony themselves if you buy a Go new from anywhere and register it before the date you get the games.

The deal was out all summer and was extended to this month, and it was also posted here before.

    Balls.

I've actually won a PSP Go but I reckon it won't arrive before the 30th.

Thanks Motley Crue. And more good news (for me anyway), the offer has been extended again:

    Sony_Extends_PSP Go_Promotion Until January 31 2011

    From promo T&Cs:
This promotion starts at 12:00pm UK time on 9/06/2010 and ends at 11:59pm UK time on 31/01/2011 (the "Promotional Period").

Oh dear, they must be flying off the shelves(!) I wonder why Sony don't just drop the price of it instead.

Well, people felt the PSP was dead this time last year, and it's still going. There are over 40 games at the moment due to get a UK release before the end of the year and there are a handful still in development, big titles, that will be released in 2012 - Dissidia 12 and Monster Hunter Portable 3 for example - so I think we're safe in the knowledge that Sony want to keep the format alive

When you register your PSP Go with PSN you download the PSP theme then this unlocks the games. I picked one up in Harvey Norman on sale for 149 so i was happy with that but 249 is pricey.

149 is a decent price, and is probably what the system should be realistically. The PSP Go exists in a weird limbo between a retail and download world, with both sides tugging hard to get their way. I can see why retailers are objecting - it's a precedent, probably what they see as the 'beginning of the end' - and the high price is the result. The high price of PSN games, though, invalidates the benefits of a download only system - not being able to 'shop around' is a serious flaw.

They'll keep trying to throw full games at us, but the PSP Go is a device ahead of its time. 10 years time, it may be seen as visionary. But for now, well it's an A for effort, but too impractical in the long term.

They have sales on games all the time though, and the price of most games is reduced in time. First party games release on the PSN for cheaper than in stores. I guess I like the PSN as it gives me a license to use the game on up to 5 PSPs, so when I buy a game I can put it on the OH's PSP as well. Whilst certain games can only be found on the PSN now due to either being out of print or only published digitally, there are also games that are only available on UMD. I hope that Sony irons out these issues for the next PSP. I also hope that my digital copies of PSP games will be backwards compatible on the successor to the PSP.

€149 is a much better price point for the PSPgo, when I got mine I took advantage of the pre-order offer GameStop were doing at the time so I traded in 4 old games and got the thing for like €130.

It's more likely than a proprietary format like UMD.

You picked one up for how much!

That happens to be the cheapest in Dublin....even the cheapest second hand store in the UK isn't selling them THAT cheap....
