Does anyone have any ideas on what a 28 year old man can get into to increase his social life? I used to do a physical team sport which was great for a time but it got too much after a couple of years. I made friends out of it but I want to try something else now. Is there any clubs that anyone knows about, ideally I'm looking for something that is a team kind of sport or hobby, they're usually the best things to make friends at but I’m out of ideas and unfortunately now find myself staying in a lot at the weekends, so need to nip this in the bud

Hiking would be a good way to meet people you are out on the mountain for a couple of hours and its good physical activity your 28 and sound fit enough. even if you are not you can do an easy walk and work up from there.

Mountain running, athletics, triathlon, martial arts, swimming, 5 a side, kayaking, airsoft, motorcross, cycling.

Just some things that spring to mind. :) All of the above will have clubs associated with them, which you can join to meet other people. Its hard at first while you learn the ropes, but after a while you feel like youve known the others involved in the sport forever. :)
