Don't know if this is the right place to post about dart fares but if anyone has any logical answer I'd like to know. For Return tickets.

Bray to Dun Laoghaire : 4.20
Greystones to Dun Laoghaire : 4.70

    Bray to City Centre: 4.70
    Greystones to City Centre: 8!

The trains covering the same distance between Bray and Greystones to both destinations so why the massive jump in price?!Does this really annoy anyone else? :(

Drogheda to Dublin 5 euro( say 30km)

Drogheda to slane 6 Euro ( say 10k)

Its market forces and prob that as no one travels to greystones there is a limited amount of options..

What CIE loose on some routes they make on others.

    The end.

I know when i worked for Dublin City Services they had a structure called "outer suburban fares". In this, the fare from Saggart to Rathcoole, about half a mile as the crow flies, was the same as Saggart to City Centre, about 12 miles. It's probably based on the same logic.

Bray to Dun Laoghaire : 4.20 8 miles
Greystones to Dun Laoghaire : 4.70 13 miles

Bray to City Centre: 4.70 14 miles
Greystones to City Centre: 8! 19 miles

    Greystones Bray: 4.20 5 miles

    Seems pretty consistent

Its acknowledged that the fares matrix is broken.

If your fares for the day are likely to be more than €6, get a day ticket that covers Balbriggan-Kilcoole-Maynooth-Hazelhatch.
