NCT question

hi i have my nct coming up in the next week on a clio but the front fog light has a small crack down the middle . the light still works but moisture builds up in it.will this fail my test and wats my best options to do.ive asked friends 2 of who are mechanics and everyone seems to give different answers.some say it will be grand then one of the mechanics say to tape the fogs up with tape as they arent legal requirement on cars or should i just take them out.ive been ringing around looking for second hand fog but no joy as yet.also im a bit smashed for cash of late would i be able to take them out myself or will i need a mechanic.cheers..

id leave it and do the test anyway, even if you fail you just need to get them replaced and go back to the nct place, show them and if there happy then youll pass. you wont need to rebook

As far as I know there is a tape you can get in Halfords to put over broken lights to that they will pass the NCT.

Ive never used it so I cant vouch for it but it might do the trick.
