I'm of to work in Qatar for awhile and I'll need to buy a car there.

I've always wanted to drive a Ford Mustang GT 4.6L :D

They are very cheap over there as is the fuel and the insurance.

So Boards members whats your opinions on the Ford Mustang?

OP, what you want is a V6 Toyota Fortuner (auto) with M+S tyres. It's the full passanger version of the Hilux, light body, responsive engine (better than the straight 4) and proper decent off road for dune bashing (it's not literally crashing into sand dunes, but offroading in the desert is called dune bashing).

It's lighter than the Prado (our Land Cruiser) and the Landcruiser (our Amazon), it's decent off road and it's what the locals use.....

I'd get the M+S tyres as they are reasonable on road and off road. The baloon tyres for sand are not great on tarmac. Once you go dune bashing, you'll want to do it again. (I did it last time in a '05 3.7 V6 Cherokee!)

Well, for me it was. I did it last April in the UAE with the brother's jeep. I'm looking at flights again and wondering if he can stick me on his insurnace......

These aren't just any tyres, they're M&S tyres. Smooth, grippy and exceptionally round...
    :D

+1. Get a jeep of some kind, off roading is great fun. Did it in the Emirates in a friends 5L Grand cherokee, great fun.

Yup, they are everywhere as the OP said, fuel and insurance are cheap as chips over there and then add in the ability to go off road when required and you're sorted.. :D

I'd get the Amazon and maybe a nice second hand BMW 7 series Alpina, another very popular motor over there too.. Maybe a B11 or B12.. nyom nyom..
