Prepay GSM SIM, which network?

I recently got a GPS/GSM tracker from ebay and when I tried it with a 3 prepay card it didn't work. The guy I bought it from said only GSM sim cards work in it and not 3G cards and I discovered the 3 cards are 3G usim cards. So my question is does anyone know which network I would be able to get a bog standard GSM sim card…

So my question is does anyone know which network I would be able to get a bog standard GSM sim card from or is it even possible! Or maybe I'll just go get a free sim card from each of them and try them out!
