    Hi all,

Working hard and saving for a masters course i want to do next year. I also want to go travelling for a couple of months in 2011. The problem is, most of my friends are back in college/unemployed.

HAs anyone gone on their own?how was it?

Also,i'm doing a TEFL course and hope to teach for a few of those months.

    Thanks for input/advice!

A lot of people go by themselves. When I was 21 I took off for 15 months and had a fantastic time. Key for me was settling down places for a while and getting to know people. I did this in Peru, Nicaragua, Malaysia and India and then travelled more places with the people I met there. Also met people in hostels. I would never do long term travel with someone I know now. They'd probably drive me mad.

+1 Travelled by myself twice - china&SE Asia one trip and Chile/Argentina another trip. It's the most liberating thing you can do and you are SELDOM alone. U meet coolpeople all the way! Good luck!

You'll be grand I've been traveling alone in Africa 11months now, you always meet other people. Just bumped into another Irish lad recently (also traveling solo) and we went to Zanzibar for a bit of a session.
