    im finding something weird.

never had a problem when running a windows machine.

    have an imac 24" 2.4ghz.
installed bootcamp (on snow leopard) and windows 7. all working ok.

however when im using skype, very often my video freezes.

anybody had the same thing before?

    thanks

    windows on bootcamp.

ahh. I hear bootcamp etc has problems with video - for games etc etc. I use parallells, so if I need to use the mac and windows at the same time I can easily switch from one to the other without rebooting. I would (in your shoes) then be able to run skype natively while still being able to use windows.

the only problem with skype on mac, is its a really badly coded app.
it uses cpu like no tomorrow and its now an old and ugly interface.

seriously. 2.8. windows has reached 5.0beta!

i use skype on my mac daily and never seem to suffer any performance issues (even on a mac mini), and thats with running quark and photoshop at the same time, as well as thunderbird and a browser. Cant say Ive honestly noticed any differences in features or functionality either, outside of the skype recorder (i use audio hijack if i ever need to record anything from skype).

so i ended up switching to mac os and using skype there.

however, my wifi connection keeps dropping for no apparent reason at random times.

airport still says connected, but im getting no internet. turning airport off then back on or restarting the imac is the only thing that works.

    anybody had this?

Horses for courses I guess. Personally I way prefer the uncluttered Mac Skype to the way too fussy Windows one. Depends on what you're used to I guess but I've never experienced any loss in functionality with the Mac version. I would be a regular Skype user as it happens, every night and during the day sometimes for both video and audio elements of discourse !

i've just set up boot-camp on my mac but before that skype tended to freeze for me anyway on both a windows machine my mac, i think its a skype problem rather then a boot-camp problem.

skype on mac is simple yes. but beware of the chat window. it just adds the users one under the other.

you could mistakenly call the wrong person.

also, like i said, it uses cpu power like no other. my mbp13 becomes so hot i cant put it on my lap. and the fan starts and never stops. same thing on my imac.

You do know, what the Question is about?

As some people are saying it simple to Use,,

He has a Mac Running VMWARE FUSION, With Windows Running Inside the Virtual Computer...He is Using Skype Within the Virtual Computer...I.E Windows he has BootCamp installed to allow the VMWARE Computer to Run his Webcam Hard Disk etc.

So he is having a Problem with Skype inside VmWare just to Example to those who are posting about how easy it is to set up..

Spipov:: you are not meant to place Laptop on lap.. heat and Wireless RadioWave, the Emit Wave is to small to notice but the heat from the laptop is to close to your Nuts,,
