Should be a good weekends golf ahead. The way Kuchar has played the last two months makes it hard to see anyone else winning the overall Fed-Ex title.

Solid starts by Casey & Donald to this. On top of the leaderboard with Ogilvy @ -4.

By contrast my picks of Stricker & Johnson both sitting on +4.

How in the name of crap did the tour not give woods, as reigning champion, a bye into the final wknd?

    ineptitude on a grand scale

We will have the Phil show instead.

No matter how far phil is back we will see every shot

Why should they? It's supposed to be for the top 30 for this season and Tiger was some way short of that. Also, he didn't win the Tour Championship last year. He won the overall Fedex Cup.

Do you think all existing rules should be changed for Tiger just because of who he is?

Gotta say. Luke Donalds short game was unreal tonight. His driving was a bit suspect but he never looked like missing a putt from any distance. Definetly going to be one of the Aces up Europes sleeve come next week.

He's my pick for this weekend and is looking very solid. Playing very well recently.

if donald driving is bad his rest of his game usually turns bad.

maybe cause his lack of distance to others

regardless of his driving his scrambling stats over the past few years has been as good as anyone's,his only problem on a weekly basis is his inability to murder the par 5's like the majority.Last night was probably his worst driving round for a good while

It's interesting that a lot of people seem to regard Luke as an ideal foursomes partner. It's difficult to see why as short and crooked isn't a very good combination. His stats would seem to indicate that he is not great tee to green but he has a great short game.

that's because he is,look at his RC record, don't get hung up with stats, sometimes missing the fairway by a yard on the right is better that being in the left hand fairway
make no mistake that he has never been described as 'crooked',yes he's short but very accurate, his chipping has improved a lot over the last few years and this had givin him the confidence to go for flags tucked away,in the past he would play conservative to the middle of the green

Fair enough but here's the thing. I've heard a lot of people describe Luke as very accurate. I've also heard a lot of people describe him as having one of the best short games in the world. Now it may not be the same people making these two claims but if both were true it would be a hell of a combination. How to explain then that he has only won 5 times as a pro in his nine year career? Is it all to do with lack of distance?

At the very least, his ability should stand him in good stead in the majors played on the most difficult courses. However, he has never challenged to win one of those either. Take the PGA at Wentworth earlier this year. He was tied for the lead with Simon Khan (in the clubhouse) with two par 5 holes to finish. 9 shots for these two holes would have given him the win. Luke managed to take 11. At the moment, I would question his ability to produce his best when he really needs to with the pressure on.

nothing to do with distance, the fact is he struggles slightly with his swing under real pressure, has a tendancy to hook the odd iron under pressure

Not too sure if it's under pressure his swing suffers or just in general. His 'hooks' as you call it seem to be no more prevalent on a Sunday back 9 then a Thursday front 9.

Sooo Jim Furyk won, woooooo. :D
I would have liked to have seen Luke win and then wait and see how long it would take them to change the points system for the Fed Ex Cup.
