Does anyone know if i cancel my sky subscription which is in my name can a different housemate take out sky in their name straight away?

Almost certainly not. If your address is a house/appartment that has a number on the door, so to speak, Sky will have that address on their system and generally will not consider it a new application. Your best option would be to cancel on the grounds that your lease is up & you are leaving that address. That route might free up options for your housemate. Make sure all info given by the housemate, i.e. phone nos, bank details,etc are completely different from your details.

"Change" your address then request cancellation. Meanwhile your house mate can proceed with ordering Sky at real address.
