Lee is sounding very ambitious and looking for a marquee fight to put his name in the mix for a world title, wants Duddy but wouldnt say no to Macklin or any of the champs.

A fight with Duddy would be perfect imo. Duddy needs to beat a proper live opponent, Lee needs a name on his record. Id love to see it in Ireland but sounds like it would be in the states.
Thought and opinons on Lee and where he is going?

Macklin will likely fight Slyvester for IBF title. He will vacate EBU. Barker is the mandatory for the EBU, I can possibly see Barker v Lee for the EBU. Timing of fight depends how long it takes Barker to recover from hip injury.

A good fight for Andy and a reasonably big name:) A good chance of winning also. Brian Peters was talking about this fight a while back. A good old Ireland v Ingurland battle would sell the tickets.

I like that fight for Lee also, the Barker one. In a way its a pity Barker was stripped of the title as imo there is nothing like ripping the title from the holder.
Maybe Barker can fight Thiam or something for the vacant title :P :P

I think Pavlik would have too much for Lee and he certainly shouldnt go after the Martinez-Williams winner at this stage.

Lee should be kept away from Duddy. Yes he is by far the better boxer, but i fear he would get dragged into a brawl and lose due to his questionable stamina.
To be honest I think Macklin is the more likely of the two to win a World Title.

Duddy is going to be stopped for the 1st time when he fights lee and matthew macklin wont win a world against any world champ out there including sylvester and lee would stop macklin also.

Remember who said it and i will bump this thread to show who knows their boxing and who doesnt.

Lee would beat Duddy but wouldn't stop him. Lee by UD.

Lee hasn't fought anyone of note. I personally think Duddy and Macklin both stop Lee.

Lee has 2 fights in the space of 2 weeks. He's looking to get busy from the looks of things.

no real surprise there. the fact he has been out of action for a while prior to his last fight, he now just wants to keep busy against tomato can fighters before he goes up against someone in a world title eliminator fight.

I think Lee is crap altogether. Once he fights someone with a bit of ability he'll get KO'd late on.

you're certainly no diplomat with those remarks.

but id have to agree with you, he's a typical straight up Kronk Gym boxer, good boxing skills per se, but he has a ****e chin and cant stand boxing on the inside either

Macklin would spark him, id be willing to bet money on that, and im tighter than a clams a-hole!

i think Lee could possibly beat Duddy, but Duddy is so durable, he might just beat Lee, id like to see this fight myself

Really? Despite the fact he has never been down, let alone KO'd...

Did some of you guys see macklins last performance last saturday? and that was after the best sparring in the world in the wildcard gym.
A distinct lack of power from macklin and every time he got hit and pressured in the corners i though he was going down.
Amin askainens glass jaw and a shot never was elcock flattered macklins true ability. imo

Lee's opponents are getting worse!! Having said that i think thats what he needs, loads of experience and testing his tools in a safe enviornment. (Hmmm, isnt that called sparring)
I think he needs to improve if he is to go in with proper live hungry opponents so this is a good way as any. As long as we dont see another thiam headline pro box live im happy enough with him tipping away over there for a while.

He is fairly young with a lot of potential but a lot of flaws, give him time.

I haven't seen anything from andy that would make me think he could beat duddy or macklin. I certainly don't think he'd be knocking either out. Id give him a chance of beating duddy convincingly on points if he was very disciplined and kept duddy at length but if duddy drags him into a scrap then duddy wins everytime for me. Lee has a poor chin, poor stamina whereas Duddy has a granite chin and never gives up.
Macklin I think blows him away in 5

I agree. Duddy & Macklin would both beat Lee. Lee is just not comfortable in later rounds, and folds. Duddy would be too durable in early rounds for Lee to beat him. I'd like to see the fight though.

Lee has a decent chin. He proved this against Vera by taking massive shots and still staying upright- indeed when the ref called the fight off he had just taken a
series of flush shots and still hit back with one of his own.
It's his stamina; inability to fight on the inside; and his susceptibility to cuts that are likely to see him come up short against the top fighters.

Personally I think Duddy would beat Lee, and Macklin would beat both Lee and Duddy.. But they have all been sitting around the Middleweight division for a long time now, and they need to battle it out to find out who is the best so they can take it to the next level.

On a side note, I think Lee is far too brave for his own good... If he keeps taking the punishment he takes (i.e. every fight is like a Rocky fight) he will be in trouble in later life...
