    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me around what price MAC eye brushes are? Something like the 239 or 217. In Brown Thomas and/or Dublin airport? Is there generally much difference in the price of Mac in the airport versus BT? :)

239 Eye Shader Brush $24.50 which is around 18-19 euro

217 Blending Brush $22.50 which would be around 16-17 euro

I think my 239 and 217 were both in the 20s, definitely not under 20 euro (in brown Thomas)

Also OP I don't think the difference is huge in Dublin airport, a euro or two and they don't always have what I want. It's much cheaper to buy in the uk airports, £16 for studio fix fluid which is €34.50 in Brown Thomas. Or if you know anyone going to the states it's much cheaper over there too!

Yes sorry I got mine from the states from a friend who is a make up artist. Anywhere you go in Ireland will be expensive for MAC brushes unfortunately.

Take the number from the USD price and assume it's the euro price (e.g. $24.50 = €24.50) and you won't go far wrong, unfortunately.

+1 on UK airports, Gatwick in particular has a great selection and the prices are really good, £9.70 for a lipstick for example. They don't have all the brushes but they definitely have the 239 (I got one there) and I'm almost certain I got my 217 there also!

    Hi OP,

You'd probably be better off contacting somewhere like salon services & get some of their pro range of brushes. You'll get a better brush (build & quality) for less than or the same price. Mac, while good, are artificially high priced because they won't let anyone but BT & DAA stock their merchandise. They control the market & the cost.

I've bought a few brushes from superdrug (a blender and a foundation brush) and they do just the same job as the mac ones. I unfortunately accidentally submerged my lovely 190 in water and it started to shed so in frustration bought cheapy ones and they are doing the job fine for me (wooo no stray brush hairs all over my foundation!)

I also bought a foundation brush with a little concealer brush on the other end in pennys for like £1.50 and two little eyeshadow brushes for the same price. I just use the concealer brush really. The eyeshadow brush is brill for blending and the bristles are VERY soft which I like. But it will NEVER live up to my 239
