    Hey guys!

I want to apply for primary school teaching in the uk for 2011 and i need some information on applying.. i have a masters in Analytical chemistry/biochemisty, an honours degree in Chemistry, a general degree in biochemisty.
do you need to do a personal statement?
do you need to have teaching experience as i have none?
do they pay for the course?
how do you know which colleges are the best? as i would prefere to go to london somewhere?
do you have to do an interview? and what the interview entails?

i would appreciate any help as i dont know anything about applying...

    Hi,

There is a lot of detailed info regarding bursaries, requirements, etc. on: http://www.tda.gov.uk/.

I'd also be interested to hear people's thoughts/experiences on the different PGCE providers in the UK. Any recommendations or even colleges to avoid?

I taught in a secondary school in England for a couple of years and there were several teachers in my school who did their training on the job. I think it was called the GSE. They trained as teachers while actually working as full time teachers. Not sure if that scheme is still available but it might be worth looking into...
